} Arms of Maldon Town Council Maldon occurs as town on the Blackwater estuary in Essex, England. These are a seat of the Maldon district and starting point of the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation.

Its title comes from either Mael meaning 'stone' & dun meaning 'hill'. East Saxons settled a front yard in a fifth century & a region in a south is however referred to as the Dengie peninsula when the Dean-ingas. The Viking raid was beaten off inside 924, but within another raid in 991 the defenders were defeated in the Battle of Maldon and a Vikings received tribute however apparently did non attempt to sack the town. It became a subject of the epic poem The Battle of Maldon.
